1. A patient was diagnosed with disturbed hormone system. However examination of the glands showed no abnormality. The doctor who examined patient suggests that the patient might have acquired the condition from the environment. What is your opinion in this regard and how would you help the patient to identify the cause for his ailments?

2.  There is a dispute between two friends. One is an economist and the other one is an environmentalist. The first friend has the opinion exporting pulses, garments and cars to other countries will improve economy. The second one argues that exporting these goods will increase natural capital degradation in our country. Whom will you support? Rationalize your opinion.

3. Suggest the best solid waste management method for the following wastes and justify your suggestion(i) Aluminum cans (ii) garbage after recovering reusable and recyclable materials   

            (iii) lead battery   (iv) mercury   (v) spoiled vegetables and fruits

4. The higher pollution levels seen in Polar Regions of the globe are due to “grasshopper effect”.  Validate this statement with couple of examples.

5. Describe how water present in oceans and rivers can be used to generate energy without degrading the environment and depleting natural capital.

6. Hydrogen is a clean source of energy and it will revolutionize our energy future. How will you defend this declaration?

7.Give any five reasons why we have to switch from coal to other renewable resources to produce energy.

8. Nuclear energy is a clean form of energy. Give any three points each to support and contradict this statement.

9. Energy efficiency is an important energy source. How? Suggest any three technologies which can save electricity.      

10. Explain the connection between the graph shown below and Kyoto protocol.
